Sweetwater County has two School Districts. School District No. 1 with the headquarters located in Rock Springs, includes all public schools within the City of Rock Springs, Farson/Eden Valley, and Wamsutter. There are about 4424 students with a teacher/pupil of 21/1. The expenditure per pupil is about $11,570 annually. School District No. 2 located in the City of Green River includes schools in the outlining communities of Granger and McKinnon. Student counts for the district are about 2543 with teacher/pupil ration of 24/1. The expenditure per pupil is $10,300. 

Western Wyoming Community College is located in Rock Springs with a satellite campus in Green River. Total count of full –time credit students is 3,548. The college makes every effort to be responsive to training/retraining needs of industry and business. A business requesting training has the option of being trained on the college campus or the work site.
